‘Girls’ season 4 spoilers: Lena Dunham on Gillian Jacobs’ character

Sunday night, HBO is taking the lid off of the much-anticipated fourth season of “Girls,” and that should have you excited enough if you are an avid fan of the show. There are also some new faces that should have you interested in the show even if you haven’t seen much of the show.

This is especially true if you are a “Community” fan, since Gillian Jacobs is bringing something new to the table as Mimi Rose Howard, a somewhat-pretentious artist who is completely different than anyone Hannah Horvath has collided with. Speaking about her in a new interview with TV Guide, star Lena Dunham had the following to say:

“Gillian brought a very interesting take to the character … She has a very detached persona and there’s something almost — this term is overused — but there’s something a little on the spectrum about her.”

Personally, we’re excited to see how Jacobs does with something a little more subtle in the way of material; she’s hilarious as Britta, but this character has a tendency to be about a million times bigger than almost anyone on “Girls” in terms of how laughs are produced.

Jacobs is not the only “Community” cast member to appear on the show, as Donald Glover years ago came on the series as a love interest for Hannah. The reason it didn’t work out was because of strong differences of opinion when it comes to politics. Hannah is back with Adam (Adam Driver) at the start of the season, but given that she is going to be in school in Iowa, there is no guarantee that will last.
