We’ll start this “Arrow” article off with what is obviously the bad news: You will not get a chance to see the next new episode of the show, entitled “Left Behind,” until Wednesday, January 21. Now that we’ve said that, we still feel like the new promo courtesy of The CW is pretty awesome.
This promo, much more than anything we’ve seen so far, shows that with Oliver Queen seemingly dead, there will be chaos in Starling City like never before. Some will try to take over the Glades, and Roy and Diggle are left to do most of the heavy lifting. (Due to the arrow color alone, you can tell that the archer in the video below is Roy, not Oliver.) Eventually, this chaos could be in part what helps Laurel Lance take up the name Black Canary and start fighting a little bit of crime herself. We still don’t think that she is going to be particularly good at it in the early going, but she has some time in order to figure it out.
Now, how long can the show really keep Oliver away from the action? We don’t feel like it is much of a spoiler at this point that Stephen Amell’s character is most likely returning to the show, since you cannot really have a Green Arrow show without the title hero. The question here is more how he will still be alive, and when he turns up again. There will mostly likely be some differences between the old Oliver and the new iteration of the character, and in some ways, this is actually part of the fun. What will Oliver have learned from that showdown with Ra’s al Ghul?
Hopefully, the man has a chance to do some sword training in his time away.
