‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 3: People’s Choice wins for Kristin Kreuk, show itself

The latest -There were quite a few winners at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night, and due to the sheer magnitude of categories, there were also far too many than what could be announced over the course of the show.

We can still celebrate today what we feel like was one of the big underdog stories of really the entire show: “Beauty and the Beast” reigning supreme as the Favorite Sci-Fi / Fantasy Show, and Kristin Kreuk winning the actress award in that category. Let’s put this in some perspective; the CW series defeated “Agents of SHIELD,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Supernatural,” and “The Vampire Diaries.” These are shows who all have bigger audiences, and some of them are frequent winners of fan-voted awards. Also, Kreuk defeated the likes of Ginnifer Goodwin, Nina Dobrev, and many other qualified candidates.

Kreuk is not a frequent user of social media, but after her victory, she did post the following message on her Twitter account.

Ultimately, a PCA win does not make a huge difference when it comes to whether or not a show sticks around, since people still have to actually sit down and watch the series for anything to matter. Still, this is a great marketing tool for The CW whenever they do decide to premiere the show. Right now, we’re feeling like season 3 could come either in the late spring or early summer; these awards were for the show’s second season.

While we ultimately cannot say too much about the storyline moving forward just yet, a nice way to tease it up would be by saying that this is the season where Cat and Vincent figure out how to make things work as a couple, rather than if they are going to be a couple at all.
