‘White Collar’ alum Matt Bomer signs up for new HBO biopic
Matt Bomer has already done some TV work since the end of “White Collar” on USA, doing an episode of “American Horror Story” as a love interest for Michael Chiklis’ character Dell. Now, we’re finding out that he is coming back to TV in a completely different capacity.
Sources confirm to Deadline that Bomer has been cast in the upcoming HBO biopic Monty Clift,” which tells the story of legendary actor Montgomery Clift, his variety of achievements, and also his addictions and his struggles as he started to watch part of his life fall apart. This is a project that has been in the works for quite a long time, and it seems as though this is ultimately the perfect sort of gig for Bomer to get even more recognition from critics.
This project comes off of the heels of Bomer having a critically-acclaimed turn in the Ryan Murphy movie “The Normal Heart,” which scored nominations from the Golden Globes, the Emmys, and many more places.
Bomer also has coming up a role in the movie “Magic Mike XXL,” so be prepared to see a whole lot more of the man in general moving forward into this year. This should ultimately be a big one for him, even though he has had a pretty good run in general the past few years with a variety of different roles.
As soon as there is more to report on this project, we will have it for you right here. Stay tuned for that.
