The more we read news about “Arrow” and “The Flash,” and the more that we feel like the executive producers and the casting department are completely obsessed with “Spartacus.” Are they going back and watching the show over night before bed? Maybe so, given how more and more people from that franchise are coming over.
On “Arrow,” you have Manu Bennett in the role of Slade Wilson, while Katrina Law is Nyssa al Ghul. Now, “The Flash” is casting one of the men behind Spartacus himself in Liam McIntyre for a big role. In news that was first reported by the folks over at ComicBook.com, McIntyre has been cast to play the part of Mark Mardon, otherwise known by the name of the Weather Wizard. This is not the sort of guy who you really want to mess with, given that he is not only extremely dangerous, but also may have revenge on his mind. If you recall, his brother Clyde was featured during the pilot of the show.
This is yet another person added to the impressive array (a rogues’ gallery, if you will) if villains on the Grant Gustin series. Reverse Flash has already been featured now, and you have out there Captain Cold and Heat Wave. Girder is seemingly dead, and we got a brief taste of Grodd. There’s also the potential someday for Killer Frost, depending of course on what the series decides to do with telling that story.
“The Flash” returns with new episodes on Tuesday, January 20 on The CW, and this will be the big return of Captain Cold with some revenge plans of his own. Read more about that over here.
