‘Arrested Development’ season 5 still likely to happen … eventually

Arrested -Do you miss the Bluth family? We certainly cannot blame you. “Arrested Development” is one of those masterful shows that can make you laugh again and again, and it’s also good enough to wait long stretches of time to see.

With this in mind, we are fine with waiting however long it takes for there to be a season 5, provided of course that there is still movement in that direction … and there seems to be. Speaking at TCA today, Netflix master of the universe Ted Sarandos made it clear that he is “optimistic” that there will be more of the show, but the challenge is as always trying to get the entire cast together.

At the moment, we do certainly get some of that, given that you have Michael Cera in movies, Jeffrey Tambor doing “Transparent,” and Portia de Rossi doing an arc on “Scandal.” With that being said, now may still be the time! Will Arnett’s job on “The Millers” is over, and we haven’t seen any huge project potentially getting in the way for Jason Bateman, David Cross, and many of the other major cast members.

We feel like the ultimate consequence could be another season where there are a limited number of scenes and episodes featuring the entire cast, but we’re mostly cool with that. All we want is to hear some more renditions of “The Sound of Silence,” for Tobias to show off those jean shorts, and for the entire Bluth family to completely fail at almost everything that they try to do. Plus, we’re still dying to know what happened after Cinco, since the previous season on Netflix teased that from almost start to finish.
