Is ‘CSI’ season 15 pulling double-duty?
We know that CBS is very much invested in getting some of their new “CSI” episodes on the air so that they can move on to other things, but does this mean actually airing a block of two episodes at one time? That seems to be that way, according to at least the schedule that the network has online (thanks to SpoilerTV for the find).
If this schedule holds, the reason that they are pushing these episodes through is in order to free up their schedule for other things the rest of the spring, and that includes the new Vince Gilligan – David Shore drama “Battle Creek.” Also, remember here all of the competition in February. CBS themselves is airing the Grammys on February 8, and the week before that, there is the Super Bowl on NBC. The Oscars are airing on February 22, which means effectively that there is only one week in February (the 15th) where there is not either a preemption or insane competition. By this logic, this date could be the finale for “CSI,” and that leaves March open to “Battle Creek” and the lineup that is being set up then.
There is no guarantee on if we will see more “CSI” beyond this year, but we certainly hope so for one reason: Given the cultural impact this show has had on the modern TV landscape, it would be almost a shame if there is proper series finale for it. CBS made sure that “How I Met Your Mother” and now “Two and a Half Men” have this, so why not now continue the tradition?
We are going to have more updates when it comes to “CSI” moving forward to that date, so do not worry about that.
