‘Shameless’ season 5 spoilers: What lies ahead for Emmy Rossum’s Fiona?

On Sunday night, “Shameless” is going to be back on Showtime, and with that in mind, there is quite a bit of cool stuff to look forward to from virtually every character in the cast.

So what about Fiona? Emmy Rossum’s character is coming off quite the insane season, and one that includes getting arrested multiple times, in addition to some drug-related issues and sleeping with her boyfriend’s brother. None of these are good things in the slightest, and she is faced with quite a choice now: How do you move forward from all this, and correct yourself after some of your mistakes?

There is some good news coming up when it comes to Fiona, at least in that she will have figured some things out moving into season 5. Speaking to TVLine on the subject of the character, executive producer Nancy Pimental made it clear that “has learned her lesson, but she’s still confronted with how to make the best choices, especially when it comes to guys.”

With that being said, expect to see a myriad of different potential love interests for the character throughout the season, and all of them bring varying degrees of interest, but also varying degrees of trouble. This is definitely something that she is going to have to be aware of.

Of course, one of the most interesting candidates is the returning Jimmy / Steve, who made a surprising appearance at the very end of season 4. What story will he bring?
