‘Shameless’ season 5 spoilers: William H. Macy on Frank’s new chapter

What lies ahead for “Shameless”? Well, we’ve got a little bit of news on the subject from someone who certainly should know a thing or two about it: Series star William H. Macy himself!

In the video below from Showtime, you can see the man behind Frank Gallagher describe the experience of working on the show this year, and also a thing or two in terms of what you can expect. To us, one of the funniest bits in here is Frank coming up with what he personally believes to be a completely brilliant idea: Crafting a beer that is packed full of alcohol as a way to keep to his “one drink a day” limit. As it turns out, this could have a variety of other uses. Someone get this guy on “Shark Tank”!

One of the fun things about getting to see a sober Frank (or at least a more sober Frank) is that it is a very different version of the character than what we’ve seen before. Therefore, Macy should get a great opportunity to play some new layers for this character, and do a variety of other things.

Now, you just have to survive the wait to seeing it happen. The new season of “Shameless” officially airs on Showtime a week from Sunday, and based on what we’ve seen so far, this one has the potential to make a favorite show even more of one. We also hope that it is even funnier, now that it has gone about that whole “classifying itself as a comedy for the Emmys” business.
