‘Downton Abbey’ video: Laura Carmichael, Hugh Bonneville, and assorted silliness

With the season 5 premiere of “Downton Abbey” coming up on PBS this weekend, many of the show’s cast members are back in America on their annual publicity tour. This is always an insane one for the group, given that they are forced to basically take time out of the holiday season to stop by various outlets. Sometimes, they pre-tape segments to air closer to the premiere, and that is what we presume is going on in this latest clips courtesy of Yahoo.

There are two clips that are shown off by the company below, and we find each one of them funny for different reasons.

1. In this one, the show’s cast gets an opportunity to marvel for a few minutes at some of the latest fan art for the series, much of which is rather over-the-top. For example, who turns Mrs. Patmore (Lesley Nicol) into a cat?

 

2. As for this one, it’s a chance to see Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, and others perform a scene pretending to be some other cast members. This, shall we say, is equally hilarious.

For those in America wondering, we do feel like the new season of the show is very much worth your time. This is an edition that comes across far more pleasantly than the one before it, and we also feel at the same time that quite a bit happens. This is in contrast to the fourth season of the show, which is really rather light when it comes to major events, and often felt a little boring.
