‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Is a new special coming to HBO?

Game of Thrones -Love “Game of Thrones“? Well, you may have another reason to want to tune on HBO at some point in the near future.

According to Winter Is Coming, the premium cable network is going to be offering up come Sunday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern a new special entitled “A Day in the Life.” There is not exactly a whole lot else known about this show at the moment, though we would presume that it is going to include an opportunity or two to see what production of the show would be like.

This is also airing at a time that is typically when HBO really starts to get some of their promotional campaigns going for new seasons, since the premiere is only a matter of six or seven weeks away and they want to really get people hyped up early. They know that this show is their cash cow, and the most-popular program in the history of the network.

So what can you expect on season 5? Right now, the biggest thing we can tease is more of Dorne, a chance to see Arya Stark flourish somewhere else, and potential chaos in King’s Landing. Now that Tywin Lannister is gone, who is going to step out and take control of the throne? We all know at this point that Tommen is more or less a figurehead. (Still, much better than Joffrey.)

Eventually, we imagine that HBO will announce some further details about whatever this special is, and we will have more for you then.
