NBC’s ‘New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly’ features Blake Shelton, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefnai, more

Most networks these days are trying to get into the New Year’s Eve game, though it is pretty darn difficult to stop the beast known as “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” when it comes to the ratings.

With that being said, we’re at least appreciate to see some of them trying, and NBC in particular has assembled a pretty robust lineup for their show this year hosted by Carson Daly. “New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly” specifically will feature Lady Gaga with Tony Bennett, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams of “The Voice,” Seth MacFarlane for some reason, and more than likely some surprise guests.

The good thing for most residents of New York City this year is that we’re at least not going to see anything crazy unfold when it comes to the weather. While it will be cold on New Year’s Eve (think around 25 degrees or so late at night), there doesn’t seem to be any enormous chance of rain or snow. Yet, somehow we imagine that Times Square will still feel somewhat hot and sweaty due to the crowds, the heated restaurants, and the drunk people barfing on the sides of the streets. (Hey, it’s an alcohol-heavy holiday.)

One other great thing about the shows? They are live, so theoretically, anything can happen. With that being said, we feel like that mantra is probably much more true when talking about the Kathy Griffin – Anderson Cooper show that anything we’re going to see here.
