NBC’s ‘The Voice’: More Craig Wayne Boyd tour news

Craig -Remember the days of the “Voice” tour? You really should, given that it was not that long ago. Occasionally, the NBC series will send out some of its artists on the road in order to promote the music they performed on the show, but to varying degrees of success. At a certain point, we feel like it’s easier for an artist to go out on their own, and do a mixture of familiar show songs and new performances.

Luckily, fans of Craig Wayne Boyd should be happy that he is wasting no time making that happy. He is going to be performing at a series of venues in January, beginning with a gig January 3 at the world-famous Opry in Nashville. (You can see the full dates here.) While his schedule at the start of the month is a little lighter, he then closes the month with a busy stretch of eight shows in nine nights across much of California, Arizona, and Nevada.

It should not be a major shock that Boyd is going to hit the road early; he was known as a touring performer before the show, and that trend seems to be continuing. At some point next year, he’ll also have to polish off a debut album; we imagine that “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face,” the song that was his original winner’s single from the NBC show, will be a part of it. After all, it recently set a milestone on the Billboard Hot Country chart.

As for the next season of the show, look for it in February. We’ll have more news on it soon!
