‘Justified’ season 6 spoilers: ‘Cash Game,’ and Boyd’s next move

When “Justified” season 6 premieres on Tuesday, January 20, Boyd Crowder is going to be in a not-so-great place. He will continue his criminal ways, not knowing that at the same time, Raylan is trying to turn Ava into an informant. Not only that, but Boyd’s old pal Dewey Crowe could be turned against him at the same time.

Some of these events are things that you will see unfold during the first episode back. What we have to add to the discussion today are the details on “Cash Game,” the second episode this coming season airing the following week. Based on the short synopsis below, it feels as though Walton Goggins’ character could be stuck, feeling a certain amount of desperation:

“Raylan’s investigation brings him into conflict with a paramilitary outfit, while Boyd and his partners try to salvage a profit from their heist.”

The miracle of survival is to us a major undercurrent of this series; namely, it is a miracle that both Raylan and Boyd have figured out a way in which to both still be alive, given everything that they have each gone through since the days of the pilot. Is there a way that one of them, or even both, survives the end of the show? We wonder at times if the world would be a more stable place with both of them out of the picture. Raylan may be a lawman, but with his type of law there is not always order. Much of the past few seasons have especially blurred the lines between what is good, and what is wrong.
