‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2015′: Ryan Seacrest, Jenny McCarthy prepare for ABC show

It’s a tradition many decades in the making, and it also happens to be one of the few shows on New Year’s Eve to actually get a decent rating: “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

For the show this year, a whole lot of it is going to stay the same. Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy are going to be the hosts for the occasion from Times Square, and once again, they will be joined by West Coast correspondent Fergie. You can see a photo from Seacrest’s Twitter, and it really gives you a good bit of insight into just how many cooks are in this particular (metaphorical) kitchen.

As for the performance lineup for the show, it’s a pretty enormous one. While specific locations for all of these artists are not hammered down just yet, we know that MAGIC!, Taylor Swift, Idina Menzel, Florida Georgia Line, Iggy Azalea, Bastille, Charli XCX, Jason Derulo, One Direction, Pentatonix, Rixton and Meghan Trainor will all make their presence felt in some way, among others. Many of these artists first came on to the scene in 2014, and others like Elton John are the legends that we love seeing year after year.

Ultimately, one of our favorite parts of the entire special remains seeing how one other, not-always-hyped, player enters the scene in Times Square: The weather. Sub-zero temperatures bring out only the most hardcore, especially among the millions of tourists who flock to the city. (Based on our native New Yorker sources, the majority of the crowd there almost every year seems to come from elsewhere.)
