‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 11 spoilers: Christine Baranski on Alicia / Finn situation
While there is no new episode of “The Good Wife” airing on CBS Sunday night, the good news that we do have for you right now is that this is the last time you are going to be hearing this for a while. Come January 4, the show will be back with some further episodes, and hopefully some great cases to unravel … including a huge one regarding Cary’s fate.
Away from that and even the State’s Attorney election, there is one other interesting question worth asking: Is there a future between Alicia and Finn? Julianna Margulies and Matthew Goode have played this story very well, especially when it comes to even allowing us to entertain this possibility, given what we saw happen to Will last season. At one time, we did not even think that would be possible.
Speaking to E! News, Margulies’ co-star Christine Baranski (Diane) does seem to be doing her best to get us to exercise caution. While these two could have a future together, there is not going to be any rush to make it happen:
“Don’t you love that it’s like the old days, like the old movies where romance is in, what’s not said and what’s not done? … That’s truly sexy.”
“Look how long they played out, ‘Are Alicia and Will ever going to get together?’ That played out for a long time, that kind of tension between them, the little looks and the little moments…It’s that brief encounter where you go, ‘Oh, my God!’ The audience just longs for that union.”
Really, we are okay with that “longing,” provided of course that there is not any obvious time-wasting going on in the process. As long as there is something else going on always, we are pretty happy.

Well, since we know Archie Panjabi is leaving, and I guess CBS wasn’t smart enough to order a Kalinda spin off, the least they could do is have Kalinda go off with a bang! And have ONE episode with Alicia & Kalinda in the same room (you know this has to be Marguluis having an issue with her – I don’t think Panjabi has the clout to say keep THAT ONE out of my scenes).
And if the show is going the political route and away from the law firm, the least they could do is bring in previous characters like Anka N Rose or Michael Boatman.
I so love this show.
So well written. I just wish they could keep actors and finish things they developed. What happened to Diane’s personal life? Does David Lee have one? What happened to all those great adversarial lawyers from season 2 & 3?
I realize the writers have stated the show is about the “education of Alicia” or her evolution or whatever, which I think is a PC way of saying “whatever Julianna wants, Julianna gets”.
I love Julianna on the show but it seems like all roads lead to her.
So you ask, what do I want to see this season?
Julianna to keep an ensemble cast and Kalinda to have an epic, epic DEATH!
Cause Kalinda isn’t the type to quit her job because she wants “me” time.
And I don’t want Alicia sobbing over Kalinda’s dead body for a close up.
And whatever happened to Carey’s libido for women of color?
Ugh…
