‘Better Call Saul’ spoilers: Latest trailer features more exploits

Better Call Saul season 1After keeping so much close to the vest for a long time, AMC is finally starting to open up the vault for some footage of its upcoming “Better Call Saul.”

What you should note, though, is that in this new teaser promo below, Bob Odenkirk’s character is not selling himself at all as Saul Goodman. Instead, he is Jimmy McGill. This is the name the guy goes by during his early days, long before Walter White’s rise to power and before Saul needs to depart to destinations unknown.

Also, this video is funny! The show is still being billed primarily as a drama, so we are not going to sit here under any false pretense that there are going to be laughs throughout. With that being said, it does very much like the show is well aware of Odenkirk’s comedic sensibilities, and they would be completely insane if they were to not take advantage of them in some capacity.

New episodes of the show will start airing on Sunday, February 1 immediately following the premiere of “The Walking Dead,” and the show will continue onward with episodes after that on Monday nights. That is a bold move to a new night for AMC, but we don’t feel like they are that worried about it. This is a show featuring a memorable character, and it has also bee renewed for a second season already. Therefore, there is no immediate reason to worry about its ratings unless they for some reason slide into oblivion to the point where they go back on their initial decision.
