‘Chicago Fire’ season 3 spoilers: Taylor Kinney, cast find connections to Shay

Chicago Fire -Even though the Leslie Shay character may have been killed off at the start of “Chicago Fire” season 3, it appears more and more like the NBC series is figuring out ways to keep her a part of the story.

Specifically in this case, we may be getting closer to figuring out how that fire existed that took her life in the first place. This issue is going to be a focus in the upcoming January 13 episode entitled “Ambush Predator.” The synopsis below should offer up a little more insight, and also shows that Severide is really going to have to face this issue head-on:

“Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) discover startling evidence found at a storage unit fire that appears connected to the fire that took Shay’s life. Meanwhile, the firehouse bands together when Chaplain Orlovsky (guest star Gordon Clapp) is the victim of a bad car accident. Elsewhere, Chief Boden’s (Eamonn Walker) father (guest star Richard Roundtree) visits, but quickly wears out his welcome with his unsolicited parenting advice.”

It would be an understatement to say that this news has us worried about Kinney’s character, mostly because we saw just how difficult it was for him to lose Shay already. This is going to be akin to re-opening a band-aid, and feeling the pain of this wound all over again.

As for some possible good news, does Boden’s father and the “parenting advice” suggest that maybe Boden’s own child is going to be okay? It’s at least a reason for us to be hopeful.
