‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ spotlight: Will Lorenzo Lamas give a winning performance?
We’re going to start here with this “Celebrity Apprentice” spotlight with a bit of honesty: Our hopes are not high for Lorenzo Lamas. While he’s an accomplished guy, this is not a name that we have heard a lot lately. Typically, that tends to translate to Donald Trump having a quick trigger when you do something wrong.
Then again, Lamas is a guy who has experience on reality TV, and with his decades in the business, maybe there are more than a few things that he can use to his advantage. For more, read on. Don’t worry, since there are zero spoilers ahead.
Claim to fame – Acting in a number of different projects, which include “Falcon Crest” and “Renegade.” Also, he has also done the reality show “Leave It to Lamas,” and worked in daytime TV as a part of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
Strengths – Knowing this industry very well. Lorenzo is going to know what the producers want, and he won’t shy away from bringing it to them. That’s why we could see him being involved in some drama. While we don’t know if he has huge name or face recognition on the street, maybe he’s made some rich friends over the years? The potential for big-money donors is higher here than with other people.
Weaknesses – When you look at the field of men this year, there are a lot of reasonably-sized names. For example, we’d say that Terrell Owens, Kevin Jonas, Gilbert Gottfried, and Ian Ziering are all bigger stars to modern viewers, and this could hurt him tremendously. He reminds us in a way of Dee Snider; someone who will most likely be effective, but also an easy person to get rid of at the right moment.
Charity – Boot Campaign. This is a great organization that supports veterans after they return from serving our country.
Prediction – We’re not too high on Lorenzo. He may be fairly magnetic to watch on TV, but are there going to be a flurry of people tuning in to watch him? We’re not so sure, and we know that Donald Trump at least looks at these things at some point.
