Tomorrow night on the BBC, at least for the majority of the developed world, “Doctor Who” is going to air their new Christmas episode. So will “Last Christmas” be a major success? It may still be too early to tell, but based on everything that we know about it right now, we have a reason to be excited.
The first reason to have a little hope at the moment is very simple: This is an opportunity to see Nick Frost do something that, at least in theory, sounds completely incredible. The man seems to be the perfect Father Christmas to us; he has that sort of light-hearted humor, but there is also such a kind, genuine quality to the way in which he can take on roles earnestly.
Also, you have Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman teaming up once again as the Doctor and Clara, and seemingly, the two had a little bit of time away from each other after the events of the recent finale. Hopefully, this is going to be a great opportunity to really see what happens for these characters next. There are obviously some rumors out there about Coleman leaving the show, and some others about her saying. Regardless, we’ll find out the truth one way or another when this episode ultimately airs.
If you look below, you can get one last treat related to the special: A new poster, which gives you a brilliant old-school sort of feel to it. This was first posted by the Radio Times, and if you click on it, you can see the larger version.
