‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12 spoilers: Could the Owen / Amelia romance heat up?

We have heard from quite a few fans of Owen and Amelia on “Grey’s Anatomy” so far this season, and there appears to be some good news coming in regards to their future: The two will at least have a chance to be together in the future!

According to a report coming in now from TVLine, Kevin McKidd and Caterina Scorsone’s characters are going to be front and center for a story coming up, and it could be after Callie encourages Owen to get back out on the market. Of course, much of the first half of season 11 for him was spent nursing the wounds of all that transpired back during the days of Cristina Yang. He loved her, she loved him, but there were still clearly some problems that kept the two from being together.

With Owen and Amelia, both of these characters effectively get a chance to start again. They each have their own demons, and when it comes to the latter, she is still reeling from finding out that her drug history was made apparent a little bit earlier this particular season. Her history is spelled out more on “Private Practice” than it is here, but many diehard fans of Shondaland are still very much familiar with it.

As for how much longer you are going to have to wait before new episodes return to ABC, the answer is “a while.” This story will resume come Thursday, January 29 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and will air there for presumably a little while until another brief break in the action.
