ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4: Scott Foley on Jake, Olivia, storylines, and more
Just in case you wanted to get an extremely candid series of opinions from Scott Foley, you have it courtesy of Reddit this Christmas Eve’s Eve. The actor / writer / director came on the site to promote his new movie “Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife,” but of course in the process tackled a variety of other questions.
As you would expect, “Scandal” was of course a very hot topic of conversation, and we’ve compiled some of Foley’s top responses on the subject of the show, his dealings with the other cast members, and what could be coming up below.
On if he wants a new love interest – “I’m open to anything, whatever the writers want to do! I think there is still more to be explored in regards to Jake & Liv. But I’m open to whatever they’d like.”
On negative opinions towards Jake, and turnaround on some of these feelings – “On one hand it’s a good feeling because people are understanding the character & his relationship with Olivia better. But on the other hand, I know that Shonda has a way of lifting characters up and then dropping them down. I’m terrified of the repercussions.”
On that dance sequence in winter finale – “I think it was a little out of character for the show, and that’s what I liked about it.”
Foley was of course pretty quiet when it comes to future developments on this show, but we still have a feeling that he loves being there very much. While “Scandal” is a busy work environment, it does still seem like he has time for some other projects.

Love that my reddit questions made it to this article. Jake isn’t going anywhere. Sorry to the haters. :)

Ugh. I hate Jake. New Love interest? Why can’t he just die? He serves no other purpose on the show except for some soapy love triangle.

Without Jake, the only storyline would be Fitz. Talk about a soap opera. At least Jake’s character brings some drama into the show, like B6-13 and an adversary to Rowan. Fitz sits around in an empty Oval Office.

I just want SF non-acting ass gone period. It has been a very long time since the writers have had to go to such lengths to make someone relevant, it taxing & pathetic.

And it’s NOT even a good triangle at that.
