‘Madam Secretary’ spoilers: First look at ‘Daily Show’ alum’s appearance

Even though there is no new episode of “Madam Secretary” coming up on CBS Sunday night, this is still turning out to be quite the day when it comes to releasing information about the show. Who would have imagined that?

What we do have for you here is the official details right now on the second episode airing next year on January 11, which carry with them the title of “Chains of Command.” There are many reasons to be interested in this story. For one, we are going to see more of Henry’s extended family in the form of his father. Also, Aasif Mandvi of “The Daily Show” fame is going to be stopping by.

“Elizabeth pushes for the prosecution of a Bahraini diplomat after he is caught holding a maid hostage in his home. Also, Henry’s father comes to visit, on MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, Jan. 11 (8:01-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Emmy Award winner Tom Skerritt guest stars as Henry’s father, Patrick McCord. Aasif Mandvi guest stars as Prince Yousif.”

The good thing about this show so far is that it has only upped the intrigue, and made some of its characters more interesting as time goes on. We’re not sure we would have been this excited about Henry’s father at the pilot; now, we are very much interested.
