American Country Countdown Awards 2014: Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line winners

While it may not be the most-popular country music awards show, or even one of the most popular country music awards shows, the American Country Countdown Awards on Fox still happened on Monday night.

While Fox does its best to try to make up for some of its ratings struggles this fall with this show, we’re going to spend some time here sharing the results of the awards shows … with some notable moments (if there are any.)

Female Vocalist – Miranda Lambert. Certainly deserving, but not entirely surprising.

Male Vocalist – Luke Bryan. We still cannot believe that this guy was on an episode of “Celebrity Apprentice” years ago.

Group / Duo of the Year – Florida Georgia Line. Clearly, they have had a heck of a past few years.

Song of the Year – Brett Eldridge, “Beat of the Music.” Still, we know this guy from that random “Big Brother” appearance.

Digital Song of the Year – Florida Georgia Line ft. Luke Bryan, “This Is How We Roll.” Excuse us while we still try to figure out just what a “Digital Song” is.

Breakthrough Artist of the Year – Kip Moore.

Album of the Year – Eric Church, “The Outsiders.” We basically feel like Church is as country as country comes.

Artist of the Year – Jason Aldean. Clearly, people still love Aldean. Our biggest shock is that “American Idol” darling Carrie Underwood was not a big winner.

Will it be proved that this show, with its new name, was a real success? We’re going to have to wait to tomorrow to find out, but usually, this proves to not be a monster like the ACM Awards or the CMAs.

What is your take on some of these winners? Share some of your thoughts with a comment.
