‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16 spoilers: New tease of January return
While there may not be a new episode of “Law & Order: SVU” coming on the air until January 7, you don’t have to look any further than right here to get a quick preview of just what you can expect.
This episode is going to be a big one for the Rollins character obviously, and it will continue along that very sad cliffhanger from the episode that aired this past week: Patton sexually assaulted her back when she worked in Atlanta.
The two script teases HERE and HERE from Julie Martin and Warren Leight give you a great opportunity to see some of the story that is coming, and how much of it will be emotionally tied to Kelli Giddish’s character.
This is obviously a difficult trade-off. While we are very happy to see her get a significantly larger amount of screen time, we also have a hard time seeing Rollins struggle with everything that happens in her past.
When will there be some other information released on this upcoming episode? NBC will release an official synopsis quite possibly within the next week and a half; if not, then we imagine that it will not come until after the Christmas holiday. More than half of this season still remains, and that in turn means plenty of opportunities to elaborate on this and other stories. We do at least know that Harry Hamlin is going to return for at least one episode, as his time filming the final season of “Mad Men” ended earlier this year.

How horrible it is to find out that Chief Patton raped Amanda Rollins. It’ll be worse when we all find out how often it happened. Let’s hope that he is convicted of raping that other woman. Otherwise, there could be another downward spiral for Amanda(if it hasn’t already started). SVU ratings are up 19% over last season, so it’s time to start negotiating new contracts with everyone(and pay Kelli real money this time) and have NBC renew the show by March.
