There is so much irony in CBS airing the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show year after year in some ways. This is a network that is routinely known for being the safest and most conservative with its programming, and yet at the same time this is a network that airs an event every year that features models wearing very little clothing walking down a runway.
So what was the big moment of this year’s show? Outside of the extremely expensive lingerie, there were of course the performances. You can see one of them, in the form of Taylor Swift performing “Style,” in the video at the bottom of this article.
Swift is in the middle of one of the craziest, and quite possibly the biggest, December of her entire career. Her new album “1989” broke sales records across the country, and she has also performed at many awards shows, and has made her presence felt in the tabloids, even. This performance itself is far away from the country singer who once performed “Teardrops on My Guitar” so many years ago when she was just starting out. Now, she is a pop superstar, and this is her second-straight year that she has graced the fashion show in some shape or form.
Some of the other performers at the show this year included Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran, which gave it a pretty star-studded lineup from start to finish.
This special always draws decent ratings for CBS, and it continues to hold the distinction of being really the only fashion show broadcast annually on a major network.
