‘The X Factor’ notes: Lauren Platt’s farewell; Fifth Harmony’s next gig
Today we’ve got a pair of “X Factor” stories to report on, but let’s start here by giving a fond farewell to someone in Lauren Platt who will be missed throughout the remainder of this competition.
Lauren posted her own farewell message-of-sorts on Twitter last night, and this may be one of those rare examples of a contestant you truly have not seen or heard the last from. She is very talented, and still very young and capable of improving. We’ve been a broken record with this, but we do believe it: If she focuses, works really hard, and gets the support from a record label somewhere, she could have a sustained career in this business. She just needs to realize that the hard work is really only beginning right now.
Fifth Harmony’s new gig – Last night, the girl group from the American version of the show performed across the pond, but they are going to have another gig back in the USA later this year for TV: Fox’s celebration of New Year’s Eve!
Fifth Harmony will be a part of “Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution,” a giant party hosted by the music star from his stomping grounds in Miami. There are a number of other big stars slated to perform, including Enrique Igleasias, Fall Out Boy, Becky G, and many of Pitbull’s frequent friends and collaborators.
These ladies are gearing up for what is going to be an enormous January for them, given that there is a new album coming out in stores entitled “Reflections.” We imagine that we’ll have much more coverage from them soon.
