‘The Originals’ season 2 winter finale spoilers: Show boss on Elijah, Hayley’s future

Originals -Tonight is going to be an important night on “The Originals,” and this is especially true when talking specifically about some of Elijah and Hayley’s feelings for each other. We know that there is something there, but there are also other feelings and desires pulling the two apart.

Specifically here, we are talking about an opportunity that Phoebe Tonkin’s character is going to have on Monday night’s winter finale “The Map of Moments” to marry Jackson, and in doing so, getting the opportunity to help out so many of her people.

As you would imagine, this poses a dilemma for Hayley, and this is something that executive producer Michael Narducci notes in a chat with TVLine:

“While it might not be the worst thing in the world to marry someone as handsome as Nathan Parsons and become queen of the Louisiana werewolves, that would mean she’d also have to find some closure in regards to her feelings for Elijah … The very first thing she needs to do is come face-to-face with Elijah and be honest with him about everything that’s going on. There’s a huge scene in the midseason finale where that happens.”

Ultimately, what we really feel is going to be important here is that Hayley follows what she feels more so than her desire to play some sort of specific role. That is the sort of thing that could ultimately get her in more trouble in the long run; for example, marrying Jackson while still having feelings for Elijah could eventually do more harm than good for the werewolf community.
