‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5 spoilers: Another ‘CSI: NY’ alum stops by!
While there may not be a new episode of “Hawaii Five-0” airing on CBS Friday night, we are at least able to report some very cool casting news right now: Another alumni of “CSI: NY” is stopping by!
It was not that long ago that we first reported that AJ Buckley from the hit procedural is stopping by for a guest appearance, we now have even more news to report. In a post on the show’s own Twitter account, it was confirmed that none other than Melina Kanakaredes will be making an appearance at some point on the Hawaii-set show’s upcoming fifth season.
There is no word at the moment on who we are going to see Melina play on the show, but there are some obvious connections between her and the series. Not only are they both in a similar genre, but “Hawaii Five-0” is executive-produced by Peter M. Lenkov, who worked on “CSI: NY” for many years before heading over to do this show.
The ironic thing is that both of these shows have aired in the same timeslot on Friday nights, and it was actually this spot that originally doomed “CSI: NY.” While it is still a little early to know for sure whether or not we are going to be seeing “Hawaii Five-0” survive beyond this season, we are a little bit worried about it.
Ultimately, all we really want for the show the rest of the season, given that there are many sad moments on the series already, is for there to be a little bit of fun and action mixed in.
