‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Lauren Platt, Andrea Faustini, Fleur East, Ben Haenow song selections

Lauren -

We are almost at the end of the road for this season of “The X Factor,” but before we get to the final, there is one final show coming up this weekend where your song choices mean everything. One performance can change where you are in the competition, and some probably need good ones more than others. For example, Lauren Platt really needs to deliver a heck of a knockout punch after being in the final two.

From what we are able to gather at the moment, there seems to be a particular theme to the weekend’s show: Christmas, and then some songs that will get the singers through to the final. Here are the official picks.

Fleur East

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” – She’ll be great at this. It’s the perfect holiday hit, and she has the range to handle Mariah Carey’s big notes.

“Uptown Funk” – We don’t know how well-known the Mark Ronson / Bruno Mars song is, but we love it. She should be able to have a great night with these two songs.

Andrea Faustini

“O Holy Night” – This all depends on the arrangement. It’s still yet another slow song from a guy who has done these almost all season.

“Wrecking Ball” – The polarizing nature of Miley Cyrus takes away from how good a song this actually is. It is current, but it is another slow song. We’re worried for Andrea.

Lauren Platt

“Stay Another Day” – We’re not that familiar with this song, but it also was popularized by Girls Aloud and we’re an American writer. The group was never that big stateside.

“Story of My Life” – A smart choice to appeal to the One Direction fans out there. We’ll see how she does with the song, but this may help her tremendously.

Ben Haenow

“Please Come Home for Christmas” – Not the most well-known Christmas song, but an excellent one. Perfect for Ben’s voice.

“Hallelujah” – We know that Simon Cowell loves this song, but we fear for “Hallelujah” overkill here to a serious degree. How much more of this song do we need to hear?
