‘House of Cards’ season 3 premiere date official for Netflix; see first teaser!

The latest -For all of you who just cannot wait to see more Frank Underwood on Netflix this coming winter, we have some great news for you: The date that you can officially mark on your calendar for the return of “House of Cards.”

In the teaser video below, you can see that the Kevin Spacey series will begin streaming on Friday, February 27, and all episodes will be available immediately upon its launch. This is a wait of a year and about two weeks between seasons, but we have a hard time thinking that anyone will really care that much.

What “House of Cards” really needs to do in this third season is work to avoid some of the pitfalls that it did during season 2; namely, focusing on the great story versus the surprises. Both it and “Orange Is the New Black” each went through their own versions of a sophomore slump, which keep them from really being as amazing as they could be.

With that being said, saying that season 2 of “House of Cards” was very good rather than great should not be thought of as that much of a slight; it is still far and away better than the majority of what is out there on television right now, and it at least tries to be extremely daring and thought-provoking with most of its storytelling.

As for the show’s future beyond this coming season, there is no official word from Netflix yet on if there will be a fourth season, and due to the way that their numbers have been calculated so far, nobody really knows if the show is a huge commercial success or not. Our feeling is that there will be more, provided that all parties involved want to continue making it.
