‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 midseason finale spoilers: Norman Reedus on Daryl’s quest

The Walking DeadWith the midseason finale of “The Walking Dead” coming on AMC tonight, now is certainly the time for a variety of questions … with many of them revolving around the fate of a few specific characters.

Carol and Beth are two in particular who are in an enormous amount of danger, but if there is anything at all that they can try to cling to in order to feel safe, it is probably the simple fact that there is a man in Daryl Dixon who may rescue them. He is the ultimate badass of this world, so why not have a little hope that he can find them and help them out?

After all, Norman Reedus says that he is almost surely going to do everything in his power to ensure that Emily Kinney and Melissa McBride’s characters are safe. Just take a look at his recent comments in an interview with “Access Hollywood“:

“The stakes are super high … Daryl keeps losing these girls! You go out on a run with Daryl, you get lost, so I think it’s super high. It’s super high to all of us. Beth represents a certain thing to the group as does Carol, and these are two of our girls [who’ve] been with us from the beginning and we’ll do anything to get them back, so the stakes are super high and everyone’s playing them super high.”

The thing that does make this show for the most part work so well is that there is never much of a guarantee that the characters will be okay. Therefore, don’t expect Daryl’s efforts to necessarily be success; as a matter of fact, the “mystery guest” on “Talking Dead” tonight makes us worried that they will not be.

We’re going to have a full account of all that happens a little later tonight, which is when our full review of this episode, entitled “Coda,” is published. Stay tuned, and head over here to subscribe to get more TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: AMC.)
