NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results preview: Craig Wayne Boyd wins iTunes; Reagan James, Ryan Sill in trouble

Every week, we like to go through how most of the contenders on “The Voice” are charting on iTunes, mostly because this is really one of the few ways that you get to see how the public is really thinking and interpreting some of the acts in the competition.

If you remember that anyone in the top ten of the results get a huge vote-multiplier, then you can be assured that Craig Wayne Boyd is the overwhelming favorite to stay tonight. The last time we checked the results at around 4:00 p.m. Eastern time, he was close to the top five on the charts. Nobody else is even that close to him.

Still, it feels like Taylor John Williams, Matt McAndrew, and Chris Jamison are all going to be just fine, given that each one of them has a song within the top 40 of the charts. DaNica Shirey, Damien, and Luke Wade are probably also fine, given that they were all at least in the top 60.

Based on the way that the sales fell this week, it feels like a bottom three of Reagan James, Ryan Sill, and Anita Antoinette is almost assured. We’ll be slightly bummed if this is the way that it goes, but we feel like Reagan and Anita have been hurt a ton by song choice while Ryan is seemingly not ready for primetime just yet. We would hope that the public would save Anita, though we realize that the temptation will be there for young voters to go after Ryan again.
