‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4 premiere date pushed up to December

Apparently, the folks over at The CW have decided to give you a little bit of an early gift, at least if you are a “Hart of Dixie” fan: The show is going to premiere a few weeks earlier than it was originally expected, even if it is for just a one-night appearance.

The network has confirmed that the first episode of the fourth season is going to premiere on Monday, December 15, and is going to lead into the winter finale for “Jane the Virgin.” Given the sudden timing of this move, the only possible reasoning that we can think of here is that the network really wants to figure out a way to keep the “Jane the Virgin” ratings high. Having a full night of programming helps that. While it’s nice to see the Rachel Bilson show on a night other than Friday for a week, we don’t really know if it is going to perform that much better given that they’ve already marketed a January 9 premiere date, and that you have other competition Mondays.

If nothing else, you’re going to see a little bit of the show early. After this, it will settle back into its standard timeslot on January 9.

The show has already released a trailer, and while there is no confirmation that this is the final season, it will most likely be unless viewers really come out and support the show in force. Our advice? Watch it, tweet about it, tell your friends to catch up on Netflix, or anything else. All of it goes a long way.
