‘Gotham’ episode 10 review: Gordon at Arkham Asylum; Bruce Wayne’s first kiss
“Gotham” has been on quite a crazy ride through the first ten episodes, and its quality has also been a little bit here and there. Sometimes, we enjoy the stories, but other times, we’ve felt like too many characters were thrown in just for the heck of it.
If there is one silver lining that we can offer you right now, it is that the fall finale of the show for the most part made some sense. It also gave Selina Kyle some of her best material of the entire series to date as she and Bruce Wayne went temporarily on the road. This was a nice little diversion, and Bruce got his first kiss to go along with it. Aw … just remember who Selina becomes!
As for the quest to resolve the murder of the Waynes, there was not a whole lot of resolution. Instead, what we had here was the story of how Gordon caused too much trouble, and how he is now dispatched to Arkham Asylum. This should be interesting, no? This means that Bullock could have a new partner, and that the Mayor and the other people working with the mob could have what they want: A chance to do their business without interference.
The finale of “Gotham” was basically half-great, and also half mediocre. We really wish that some more of the Gordon side of things took on some fun, and deviated more from the other cop shows that are out there. This was still an entertaining episode, but like with most of the first half of the season, it feels still like there is something more it can offer. Grade: B.
