‘Dancing with the Stars’ 19 finale: Alfonso Ribeiro gets boost from Will Smith

We’ve said for the past couple of weeks that it could be tough for Alfonso Ribeiro to take home the title on “Dancing with the Stars,” and there is one very-simple reason for that: Trying to contend with some of the crazy kids who are out there. Bethany Mota, Sadie Robertson, and Janel Parrish all have extremely-young followings, and they may even be getting votes from people who are not even regular viewers of the show.

With this in mind, Alfonso really needs to mobilize some of the other people who are out there, and rely on some of the nostalgia and the entertainment he brings to the show. Well, we do think that he got a big boost tonight from none other than Will Smith. Ribeiro’s former co-star from “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” made a post on his Facebook page tonight encouraging all of his fans to vote:

“If y’all show Alfonso Ribeiro & Witney Carson enough love, they can WIN the Dancing with the Stars final tomorrow. So vote TONIGHT.”

While we feel like Alfonso is in some ways an underdog to win this, there is still a path in order for him to win the finale. First and foremost, he needs to get great scores, and try to appeal to the older, longtime TV fans. Also, he needs to hope that the other three all cancel each other out in some way when it comes to fan bases.

While we feel like Bethany is the favorite (the Derek Hough factor), another person to watch is Sadie, given that her voting block is probably way larger than anyone realizes.
