‘The Good Wife’ season 6, episode 11: When do Julianna Margulies, cast return?

Typically, our “Good Wife” previews are a pretty good resource to finding out some of what lies ahead on the show.

However, the trouble with today’s tease for the future of “The Good Wife” is pretty simple: There is no new episode next week. Heck, there is not a new episode coming up for the next month.

After tonight’s “The Trial,” the show will be going on a holiday hiatus, and will not return to the air until Sunday, January 4. This is a pretty long time to wait, but CBS is filling up some lost time on the show with new episodes of “The Mentalist.”

The tricky thing about “The Good Wife” is that even though the show is returning in January, there is still going to be at least another hiatus coming up beyond that … if not more than that. One of the problems with airing ten episodes this fall is that there is only 12 left to go.

The big thing that we would say to expect from when the show returns above all else is really quite simple: A chance to learn what Cary’s fate ultimately is. We learned at the conclusion of his trial that he had decided that he was going to enter a guilty plea in return for a smaller sentence, but does that mean that he will really go to prison? Or, is he actually going to still try to find a way to sneak out and leave the country?

No matter what he chooses, we feel like this is far from over.
