‘Saturday Night Live’ spoilers: James Franco, Amy Adams to host in December; One Direction, Nicki Minaj to perform
“Saturday Night Live” has now officially booked up every single show for the month of December.
Earlier today, we reported that “Sherlock” star Martin Freeman, prior to the final chapter of “The Hobbit” trilogy being released, will appear on the December 13 episode alongside fellow first-timer Charlie XCX. Hopefully, she’ll bring a little bit of “Boom Clap” to the proceedings.
Now, we’ve also found out about the rest of the lineup.
December 6 – James Franco is going to return for his third time hosting the show, while Nicki Minaj will perform for the second time. What’s interesting here is that this is the third hip-hop artist this season, and sometimes the show goes a full year before getting three people in the genre.
As for Franco hosting, we’re still torn. He’s game for anything, but sometimes that doesn’t translate to him being funny.
December 20 – Amy Adams gets the chance to host the holiday episode of the show, and she will be joined by One Direction. Clearly, NBC isn’t too mad after the whole Zayn Malik – “Today Show” mishap where Matt Lauer seemingly went hard on the band out of left field.
We’re a little surprised by this news, mostly because we thought NBC would pitch their last show of the year to a former cast member. Still, it’s hard not to love Amy. She has that distinction of being incredibly professional, but also very funny at the same time.
Here’s to hoping that “SNL” continues its recent trend of great shows following the warm and funny edition hosted by Woody Harrelson, which you can read our full review for right now by heading over to this link.
