‘The Bachelor’ creator Mike Fleiss arrested; does this mean anything for Chris Soules’ season?
“The Bachelor” as a franchise is one that is commonly tied to drama and controversy, but we have a feeling that they much prefer it when it involves things going on in front of the camera rather than behind it.
Per a new report from TMZ, the show’s creator Mike Fleiss was arrested following some allegations of harassment made by former “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Brooke Burke and her husband David Charvet. You can read some of the details over there, but the base details are that the police supposedly found Fleiss uncooperative when they tried to investigate claims made against him.
What we’re a little more interested in than the arrest itself (mostly because we are not a legal site, and there are two sides to every story) are what sort of implications this sort of arrest could have on the rest of this “Bachelor” season. The obvious irony here is that with people like Chris Soules, the show tries to sell itself on being wholesome, at least to the extent that he is someone you’d want to be with. Arrests of people behind the scenes make matters a little awkward.
With all of this being said, we’re not all that concerned about any long-term implications here. Fleiss is not always even on set during production of the show, and the people the Bachelor and the contestants spend more time with are the producers, host Chris Harrison, and each other. We don’t see any interference when it comes to anyone there, and the show will continue as planned. As a matter of fact, everyone will probably forget about this arrest in the first place in a matter of weeks.
With all of this being said, you can still share some of your thoughts about it with a comment, and head over here to get some further news related to “The Bachelor” today. Also, be sure to sign up to get even more great TV scoop on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo via ABC.)
