NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results: Matt McAndrew, Craig Wayne Boyd win in iTunes; Ryan Sill, Reagan James in danger

the voiceIf there’s one thing that “The Voice” has made very clear over the past few years, it is that they love to make a ton of money off of their contestants on iTunes. Also, they factor it into the way in which artists advance on the show. If you make it into the top ten, you get a 10x multiplier on your votes! It’s a good incentive for pushing lots of downloads.

As of this writing (which is around 2:00 p.m. Eastern time), the one artist for sure getting the multiplier is Matt McAndrew. His “Take Me to Church” was beloved by the audience at the taping last night, and he is at #5 at the moment! He’s safe for sure, and while they are just outside the top ten, Damien and Craig Wayne Boyd probably are as well. It’s a good day for Adam Levine altogether; with Chris Jamison just outside the top 20, Adam’s whole team is probably feeling pretty comfortable.

As for everyone else on the show right now, it may be a rough time to be on Gwen Stefani’s team. While Anita Antoinette is probably safe, Taylor John Williams could be a fringe contender to be in the bottom; while he sold more singles than Anita, he also performed early in the show and probably won’t get as many of those voters. Ryan Sill for sure is in danger. He, along with Reagan James of Team Blake and Sugar Joans of Team Pharrell, all ranked outside of the top 100 in iTunes sales. Two of them are probably in great danger of going home tonight. We’d give the edge to Reagan if they are the three in the most jeopardy, mostly because she’s got the Blake connection, and we know that she can work a crowd very well.

In the end, though, Matt’s established himself as the clear favorite to win this competition at the moment, but it’s still early and a whole lot can change.
