ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4, episode 8 spoilers: Emily VanCamp, devastation in ‘Contact’ photos
Last night, “Revenge” aired a heck of an episode that set the stage for a few very important stories moving forward … and also some more silliness for Daniel Grayson, Louise, and Margaux. There’s a part of us that seriously just wants to see these three characters shipped off to an island where they can do whatever they want, and not get in the way of the stuff we really want to see.
Some of that aforementioned stuff (well, actually most of it) now revolves around the characters of Emily Thorne and David Clarke, who now are both fully aware of each other, and who they really are. On the surface, this appears to be the sort of super-great news that you want to do a little bit of a happy jig about.
However, there are some ugly layers that go underneath that. Emily feels resentment over how close David has been to her this whole time, and she never knew or realized what he was up to. Meanwhile, he cannot feel that good over the fact that Emily VanCamp’s character hid under a false name, and even had an entire conversation with her that was based on this thorny persona. (Sorry, could not resist.)
To make matters worse, there is also Victoria Grayson’s fate still hanging in the balance. Regardless of whatever goes on in his very-confused mind the majority of the time, David did care a whole lot about this woman. He cannot feel too good about her being electrocuted.
With all of the potential memory loss, freak accidents, false identities, and shouting matches, “Revenge” is certainly in proper-soap territory right now. We have to hope that the journey finds a way to continue with the same level of momentum behind it.
