‘Supernatural’ season 10 spoilers: Jensen Ackles’ Dean and the Mark of Cain

Take a look -For Dean Winchester, “Supernatural” season 10 has been so far a case of good and bad news. While the character can definitely celebrate the sole fact that he is no longer a demon, there is still the major hanging chad that is the Mark of Cain. This terrible burden is going to continue to rear its head, and we have to see how the character deals with this.

So what can you expect? Showrunner Jeremy Carver seems to suggest, at least per TVLine, that there will be a lot more storytelling when it comes to this that will take a focal point in the story:

“You’re going to see Dean dealing with this pretty much for the next chunk of the season, as he and Sam take different paths in how to deal with it … While we’re all very happy he was cured of being a demon, there’s a lot more work to be done.”

As for whether or not it plays a role in Tuesday’s 200th episode “Fan Fiction,” that remains to be seen. However, we know that we personally want to see it play a pretty enormous part only after this episode ends. Why burden such a milestone with a specific story? We want this to be almost completely standalone Tuesday, just so that we can go back and enjoy some of the silliness and heart of it regardless of the season, or our recollection of everything else that is happening.

Ultimately, there are so many other opportunities to come in terms of the Mark of Cain. There’s no need to rush it.
