‘Supernatural’ season 10 spoilers: Jensen Ackles’ Dean and the Mark of Cain
For Dean Winchester, “Supernatural” season 10 has been so far a case of good and bad news. While the character can definitely celebrate the sole fact that he is no longer a demon, there is still the major hanging chad that is the Mark of Cain. This terrible burden is going to continue to rear its head, and we have to see how the character deals with this.
So what can you expect? Showrunner Jeremy Carver seems to suggest, at least per TVLine, that there will be a lot more storytelling when it comes to this that will take a focal point in the story:
“You’re going to see Dean dealing with this pretty much for the next chunk of the season, as he and Sam take different paths in how to deal with it … While we’re all very happy he was cured of being a demon, there’s a lot more work to be done.”
As for whether or not it plays a role in Tuesday’s 200th episode “Fan Fiction,” that remains to be seen. However, we know that we personally want to see it play a pretty enormous part only after this episode ends. Why burden such a milestone with a specific story? We want this to be almost completely standalone Tuesday, just so that we can go back and enjoy some of the silliness and heart of it regardless of the season, or our recollection of everything else that is happening.
Ultimately, there are so many other opportunities to come in terms of the Mark of Cain. There’s no need to rush it.

I wanted way more of Dean!! If souless Sam could work cases, why not Dean? The writers could have figured something out!! And so far the eps. have been good but as normally, Dean get a story and then it goes away in thin air after a heart to heart episode. Sam asked Dean “When did you get up?” in ep. 5 and that was it. Okey, I get that the 200th episode was speciall so that´s okey, but it feels like the 7th isn´t going to explore HOW Dean actually is after being cured. He should be feeling the loss of the blade like in season 9. Sam gave it to Crowley and Dean was without for a long time in the bunker and after… where are the effects like s.9? And they give Hannah a small story involving her vessel.. that felt way of. Why Hannah? Give us a story with Cas! So I really, really hope this Mark of Cain is´t cured in 3 eps after Dean starts to show effects, like with him being a Demon. And if Crowley is with the boys and the blade as well, Dean can “call for it” like in season 9. Come on! This was supposed to be the year of the Deanmon. So far it´s only been “The three episodes of Deanmon!”. Yes, I love the boys.. but I want a story about DEAN!

I want Demon dean to return and gradually get darker and darker. the stroy line can last more than one season. I was hoping to see Sam and Cas prank Dean with holy water or Dean flinging people across the room. Also I want to see more of Sam’s summer vaction and how dark his path truly was. Who is the bigger monster?

I want Demon Dean back! Jensen was doing such
an amazing job as an actor. It’s a shame that they cured Dean so fast.

No Carver, we weren’t all happy that Dean was cured, at least not so fast. Sadly, when it comes to Dean stories, one thing that is constant is that the stories, unfortunately, never last as long as Sam’s, nor are they ever given any serious gravitas. Too bad for the show because stories about Dean not being all about Sam are a lot more interesting than more navel gazing Dean or sidekick Dean that we’ve been given throughout Carver’s and Gamble uncreative reigns .
