‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 5, episode 8 preview: Carol Burnett, Frankie Valli, and more

Tonight, “Hawaii Five-0” had a pretty exciting episode, and its 100th episode that contained in part a “what if” theme, but eventually ended up progressing to so much more.

Next week, the show will get back to its roots with an episode that features a typical case but also something that will surprise you: The return of Carol Burnett as a guest star. The title is “Ka Hana Malū” (“Inside Job”), and you can see the official synopsis below:

“While the team investigates a couple’s murder in which their sons are the prime suspects, McGarrett is shocked when Aunt Deb returns to the island with her new fiancé, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Nov. 21 (9:00-10:00, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. Entertainment legends Carol Burnett and Frankie Valli guest star.”

The biggest thing that we have high hopes for after reading this synopsis is really rather simple: Burnett. She is not only a showbiz icon, but she is the sort of person who can bring the best out of everyone around her. The fact that you have Frankie Valli in here, as well, is really just the icing on the cake.

We do wonder sometimes how this show manages to convince so many wonderful guest stars to come out and appear, and we feel like in the end like the answer may be pretty simple: They have a great location! Who wouldn’t want to be in Hawaii, where they can vacation as soon as they are done working?
