‘Glee’ season 6 spoilers: Lea Michele, Darren Criss, more celebrate 700th performance

Even though “Glee” may be filming their final season right now, the cast is still celebrating major milestones when it comes to musical numbers.

With that in mind, consider this shocking fact: The Fox show just filmed their 700th musical number. Think about that number for a minute, and just how insane that really is. Sure, there have been more than 100 episodes at this point, but you are basically talking about over six performances an episode, and that is so much work for the cast and crew.

The photos below come from Lea Michele on Twitter, and they feature the actress alongside Darren Criss, Chord Overstreet, Becca Tobin, and many more filming some of these big numbers for the show.

No matter how you look at it, this is the sort of achievement that few shows can ever achieve, especially one with such a heavy musical component. You can argue a little about whether or not “Glee” is past its prime or going out with a whimper, but we personally feel like this is almost impossible-to-dispute proof that this show has had an unparalleled impact on the TV world. There’s probably also never going to be something quite like it on TV again.

At this point, the “Glee” gang is several episodes into production on the new season, and we imagine that it will be still several weeks before they get even close to talking about the end of the entire series. When we get closer to that moment, though, we’ll be sure to have further updates.
