‘The Newsroom’ season 3 spoilers: Jeff Daniels coy on Will / Mackenzie wedding

Where do Will and Mackenzie stand during the season 3 premiere of “The Newsroom”? That has been a burning question almost since the show was renewed by HBO for six more episodes.

The great news for the time being is that we know that the wedding has not happened yet when the show premieres Sunday. However, there is some question regarding if viewers will ever get to see it. Speaking to TVLine about the pair, Jeff Daniels wasn’t too keen to say one way or another:

“I do know there was a ring. We ended Season 2 with a ring, and we’re talking about bridesmaids in the first episode of Season 3, so… perhaps … I know Will and Mac want to. There are some obstacles thrown up in our way. Whether we overcome them or not in the second half [of the season] is to be seen.”

If it doesn’t happen, we’ll be somewhat disappointed; however, this show has never really focused that much on the personal lives of any characters. Therefore, we cannot say with 100% certainty that the show will have the time to give us a wedding scene when they have so many other issues that need to be taken care of.

For example, Will is going to face a crisis early in the season when we have someone in Neal who lands in some trouble with the government over a source. He is constantly protective of those who work with him on “News Night,” so this will more than likely not be an exception.

Is there anything in particular that you want to see from Will and Mackenzie on the final season of “The Newsroom”? Share some of your thoughts with a comment now.
