‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ reunion: Teresa Giudice, Dina Manzo, and few bright spots
Watching the second part of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” reunion show was all sorts of uncomfortable, and not in the way that traditionally makes for good television.
We have to start off here with the following: Wasn’t it pretty darn clear to everyone else just how badly Teresa Giudice wanted to be anywhere but sitting down with the rest of her co-stars? In a way, we get it. She was sentenced to well over a year in prison, and had already done a lengthy sit-down interview with her husband Joe on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” show. She didn’t have a whole lot else to say here, other than regurgitating things she already said and trying to not give a whole lot more information on anything.
Really, Dina Manzo gave the most astute observations of the night, mostly about how ridiculous some of the fighting got … and mostly among the guys. The way these men traded off barbs about people chasing fame, and whether or not Joe Giudice was to blame for all his family’s trouble, you would think that the show was actually about them.
Here is a note to the producers: Get rid of this part of the reunion. It is never too interesting, and after watching that physical brawl on this show last season, we’re pretty much done with most of the men on this show. They are not featured in the title for a pretty clear reason.
Still, the show will go on, and we’re sure that there are some in the cast who would rather focus on things like rumor-spreading and ruining charity events with brawls. Maybe next year…
