‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4 premiere date confirmed; Rachel Bilson story, final season rumors persist
Good news for fans of “Hart of Dixie“: The CW finally made it clear today when the show is going to return for its upcoming fourth season. The bad news? You’re still going to be seeing the show on Friday nights every week.
The official premiere date this time is Friday, January 9 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, which is going to really start to make this lineup rather crowded. Remember here that Fridays now also have some great shows like “The Amazing Race” (which is returning in February), and then at 9:00 “Shark Tank” and “King of the Nerds.” That’s a lot of fun choices for entertainment.
As for whether or not these ten episodes constitute a final season, the network is not saying. The same goes for whether or not Rachel Bilson’s pregnancy will be officially written into the story, though network president Mark Pedowitz said recently that this is where the show is eventually going here.
The one bit of hope that the show has is that The CW went ahead and set the schedule for early in the year rather than spring. Being on in the winter means that there may be some, in particularly in the northern states, who want to stay at home on Friday night with a good TV show rather than go out in the cold. We feel like the network wants to see where all of their ratings are in around February before they make any official decisions. Given that they have had a pretty solid schedule this year, Bilson and company have their work cut out for them.
