‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: First Chris Soules promo to air during CMA Awards
The new season of “The Bachelor” featuring Chris Soules is getting ever closer to airing on ABC this January, and we now have some other big news to share: When the very first promo for it is going to air!
In a post on Twitter, Robert Mills confirmed that the new promo will air on Wednesday night during the 2014 CMA Awards, and it will also have a theme to it: It’s based on a movie! Our guess? Something that involves farming, country music, or a combination of the two. Let’s remember the target audience here, people! (To be fair, it’d be funnier if the show went for the “Once Upon a Time” – “Frozen” demographic and featured a rousing rendition of “Let It Go” by Soules.)
We could try to go into some analysis here on promotional strategies and what works, but to be honest ABC has this down to a science with “The Bachelor.” We don’t really see them doing a whole lot to reach new viewers, and they don’t have to; just keep the ones that you have happy. That’s why casting is always fairly similar, and the format of the show has barely changed over the years save for different locations for so many of the dates. You can bet that this season will have a few controversial contestants, hometown dates, at least eight or so opportunities to see Chris without a shirt on, and some other little things here and there.
Really, all we hope for is entertainment, and an ending that makes us feel at least reasonably more satisfied than what we saw through with the show featuring Juan Pablo Galavis.
