‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ video: On NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, and origins

Tonight, there is technically not the premiere for “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” However, there is a special “Road Trip” special that is going to give you a little more insight into some of the past six seasons of the show, and prepare you all the better for when the real season actually begins on Bravo.

How do you know that a show has great ratings? Basically, when you are able to put on a special like this and spend a whole lot of time talking about something that is completely in the past.

In the sneak-peek video below, Lawrence Washington and Derek J take you back to the mansion that started one of the long-standing feuds between NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey, which feels almost like a classic page from “The Real Housewives” handbook for a variety of reasons. It’s a charity event that was supposed to be about doing things for people who needed a lift in life, and of course it ended up being more about watching people squabble and yell at each other.

Who knows where the relationship for NeNe and Cynthia is going to be when the next new episode of this series airs? It’s always hard to figure out at this point! Due to all of the time jumps between seasons, there is always a chance for things to improve as the story goes along. However, there is also traditionally a big jump that happens from the end of one season to the start of the next one, and a lot can happen in there.
