MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4, episode 18 preview: Ashley Rickards’ Jenna and a standoff
While it seemed on Tuesday night’s new “Awkward” episode that we were going to see a cease-fire of sorts when it comes to Jenna Hamilton trying to get back Matty, it appears that this may ultimately be short-lived. Instead, Ashley Rickards’ character seems to have an innovative plan to win her old beau back, and it revolves around Gabby and a surprise party that she is throwing for his birthday.
The promo airing after Tuesday night’s episode showed Jenna putting on a brave face, but also one that suggested that she was going to take on any obstacle that Gabby threw at her like it was nothing. We therefore expect an intense half-hour of comedy, where there will hopefully be some surprises to got along with it.
You can see some more details in the super-short synopsis below, but we have to say right now that the part related to Sadie and Tamra really does not give away much:
“Jenna is pitted against Matty’s new girlfriend; Sadie and Tamara battle for cheerleading dominance.”
While we’ve found the most-recent few episodes of “Awkward” to certainly be entertaining enough, they also have not done too much to address a few pressing concerns, which include whether or not the show is chugging along at the speed that we’d like for it to. It feels like a show that is dragging things along, knowing that it has another season where it can handle graduation and tie together all of its loose ends.
